ABOUT US
OVERVIEW Until 2011 Armenian Mine Action programme had developed under the Armenian Armed Forces. Even though significant efforts were vested in Armenian Mine Action programme in past, the process has stalled by the end of 2006, mainly due to lack of financial resources. And finally, at the beginning of 2011 the Government of the Republic of Armenia (RA) made concrete steps in civilianization of Mine Action programme and preparedness to establish the national ownership of the problem. RA Government established a civilian “Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise” (CHDE), state non-commercial organization, and approved its Charter by the Decree N 143 adopted on 17 February 2011. The founder of Armenian CHDE is the RA Government, and the governing authorised state body is the RA Ministry of Defence.
